I am a physician and an executive. Those are titles. What I actually do is help people and organizations lead themselves toward better health and better results.
My training runs from West Point to the practice of medicine: an MD, an MBA, and an MPH, with board certification in Preventive Medicine. I served as a U.S. Army officer, including combat deployments and the privilege of leading TRICARE Europe, where our team cared for more than 255,000 beneficiaries across 95 countries. In the corporate world I have served as a Fortune 100 Chief Health Officer and as a health company president, and on the boards of CommonSpirit Health and Concentra. What was the best team you were ever part of? What word would you use to describe it? Fun. Results driven. Everyone mattered. A team, like a melody, is played well when we understand both the notes and the pauses between them. There is no burnout on a wonderful team. Chemistry, connection, and competence lead to results, accountability, and fulfillment.
